Welcome to IIMCT Relief and Rehabilitation

The work in progress at 28 high schools and 8 craft centers is to provide food assistance, school uniform distribution, and school fee to most deserving students. During routine interview with students at the school it was discovered that several students at the schools had no food provided by their families before coming to schools. This program was launched nearly 10 years ago to give food supplies to most deserving families.

Realizing that this food distribution cannot be given forever it became necessary to try to engage the families to obtain some skills training so they could create some income for their families on a permanent basis. Initially we opened one craft center at Imtiaz Craft Center at the Uprising High School to train 50 older ladies who have no income. It was essential to work with a high school that agreed to provide a room at their school to open a craft center, where we provided machines and a paid instructor under iimct office. In about 6 months to a year the ladies get trained and they were required to complete highest proficiency in sewing, embroidery, and "karchubi" training, when machine awards were given to them so they could look for work. We have subsequently opened craft centers at 7 other schools and operating classes with two-hour sessions. We are constantly looking for training other crafts, we request our audience to provide suggestions and to provide generous donation.

NAM Foundation, a non-profit organization

Currently, we have passed management of the above activities to NAM Foundation, a non-profit organization operated by nearly 15 very dedicated board members, whose board approved such participation after review.

We have noticed that there are numerous poor and depressed families in nearly 85 slum areas of Hyderabad with desperate housing conditions for the survival of large families. There is an urgent need to improve their living conditions, so they can put their children into schools with needed assistance, so the families can begin to think of standing on their feet to run their lives. There is a program underway for intense education of children reported under www.iimct.org to bring the children to a level where they can compete in the market.
